The Ruuhijärvi multifunctional villa in Evo, Hämeenlinna was built originally around 1920 as a base for forest workers, for lumberjacks and woodcutters. The buildings have been renovated and modernized for meetings and vacations in mind and for year-round use. Even though the villa has been fitted with modern comforts its buildings and surroundings still have the spirit of old times lumberjack-worksite. All of this is next to a quiet wilderness lake and close to famous Evo hiking area.
Ruuhijärvi lake villa offers fantastic facilities close to nature for various events for groups from 5 to 60 persons. Some great examples are meetings, company events, vacations, fishing trips or perhaps wedding parties! Main Hall: The main building’s Main Hall has room for approximately 25 persons. It is equipped with a free Wi-Fi, a flipchart, a silver screen and a 55” widescreen TV with HDMI connection. The area has a separate section for socializing, a TV room and a social area that can also be used for dining by 10 persons. The social area can even be used as a bedroom thanks to a 2-person convertible couch. This room also has a 55” flat screen TV.
Kitchen: The kitchen has tableware for 25 persons, an electric stove and oven, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a Moccamaster. Please note that we recommend bringing your own drinking water, as Evo Ruuhijärvi’s well water tastes like iron, and we do not recommend it for drinking or cooking.
Grilling areas: Barbeque hut is located next to the main building – and there are three modest dormitories in the hut, which is worthwhile to fall asleep at the end of the evening. There is also an open camp fire place, around which up to 35 people can sit around the table. If you want to use a charcoal instead of firewood, we kindly ask for the charcoal to bring it yourself.
Living Areas: The main building’s lobby area has room for 10 persons to dine, have meetings or just casually socialize. The main hall has an extended social area for casual socializing, watching TV or perhaps for playing cards. There is also space for 10 persons to dine.
Accommodation: There is a total of 25 bed places in Ruuhijärvi. The main building has 2 bedrooms with 6 bed places each and one bedroom with 5 bed places. The social area has 2 bed places in the convertible couch and the lobby has also 6 bed places on 3 convertible couches. The second outdoor sauna building has a bunk bed for 2 persons and 2 bed places on own mattresses. There is also a separate small cottage prepared for sleeping for up to 4 persons. Blankets and pillows are included for the same amount as number of beds.
Bathrooms: The main building has 2 bathrooms, one next to the lobby area and the other next to the indoor sauna. There is also a humble toilet inside the small cleaning room.
Saunas and Showers: The main building has an electric indoor sauna and a dressing room, 3 showers and a toilet. The sauna has space for 4 to 5 persons at a time.
The smaller lakeside sauna is wood-heated and has a 40-litre boiler. The sauna and the dressing room both have space for 10 persons. The lake is just 10 steps away and the hot tub is also right next to the water.
The bigger lakeside sauna is made for year-round use for genuine sauna enthusiasts. The sauna has space for 8 persons and the large dressing room has space for 15 persons. The dressing room has been insulated and electrically heated for year-round use. The lake and hot tub is only about 20 steps away.
Log Building: The old times timber made cottage at the Ruuhijärvi yard has space for approx. 40 persons and can be used for celebrations and meetings or as an old fashion dining room. The wood-heated massive stone stove gives an atmosphere from hundred years ago.
Hiking trail: Near Evo Ruuhijärvi there is an outdoor route where you can take a small hike during low or non-snow season.

The price of Evo Ruuhijärvi includes the multifunctional main building with the use of the indoor sauna and one lakeside sauna. Additional services offer the use of the log building, second lakeside sauna, 1 or 2 hot tubs, grilling goahti, separate small cottage, additional tableware, the final clean-up, towels and sheets with the bed made or sheets as a stack.
